Custom seals are carved backwards so when pressed into the molten wax the image will then face the correct direction.
 
Seal designs are usually a round or oval format, depending on the shape of the design you evision. Designs must be bold in line quality to be sure that the wax does not break when the seal is lifted out of the cooled wax.

To use sealing wax, light the stick like a candle. Drip upon paper or item, then DAMPEN the seal, and lightly press into the molten wax. After a few seconds the wax will solidify, and the seal can be picked up. The impression remains.
